Karina Vela Wins Washington Congressional Art Competition


Palmview High School’s Karina Vela Guerra wins the Washington Congressional Art Competition for the 28th District of Texas.


The Congressional Art Competition is an opportunity to recongize and encourage the artistic talen in the nation. Congressman Henry Cuellas is honored to be a part of this nationwide competition, which provides the opportunity to showcase the talents of creative high school students in the 28th District of Texas.


Join us in congratulating our very own Karina Vela Guerra for her artwork “Alter Ego” which competed for and won the 28th District of Texas Washington Congressional Art Competition. Karina will attend the Congresional Art Competition Reception in Washington, D.C. this summer and the Congressional Institute will coordinate a tour of the Capitol for Karina and a guest.  Karina’s artowk will be on display at the Cannon Tunnel to the U.S. Capital for an entire year.
